Deductive and Inductive Approach in Qualitative Research

inductive approach in qualitative research

If I say All pesticides are toxic

This is a pesticide, so it is toxic

In this approach you can observe that we stated from a general approach that all pesticides are toxic, then we come in to a single approach like “this” is toxic. In this example describe the what is deductive approach in qualitative research. deductive approach is general to a specific sample to identify or to find a true statement; Z to A approach. On the contrary, the Inductive approach in qualitative research is the reverse; A to Z approach.

We can give an example for that to understand more clearly. After smelling some Jasmin flowers we can say that all Jasmins are scented. Observe, here we examine a jasmin or few of them then we go for a conclusion to all like A to Z approach. Induction is examined from a single to general assumptions. Whereas deduction is examined from a general to a single assumption.
