Detailed Lesson Plan for the teachers

A lesson plan is a neat logical sequence of the key points of a lesson and a tool for directing the lesson toward achieving a desired destination. A teacher or trainer without it in the classroom is like a boat without a boatman. It tells us what, when, and how to do things in the classroom.

The salient feature of a detailed lesson plan

  1. Need thorough preparation of the whole session
  2. Not necessary to think in the classroom about what to do when and how.
  3. Session becomes attractive
  4. Greater motivation can be achieved
  5. Helps teacher to finish the session on time
  6. A variety of teaching aids and methods can be used.

Teaching methods and aids:

Here are some tips for teaching aids that need to use for an effective lesson plan in math or in the English classroom for undergraduate or graduate students.

Teaching methods and aids to make a detailed lesson plan in math courses or other science subjects are as follows:

There is a variety of teaching aids available for teaching to become effective. To make the session attractive, it is better to use more aids and methods.

  1. Visual aids: this could be any poster charts, maps infographics, or slides for the students to make the topics more understandable in your detailed lesson plan.
  2. Manipulatives: this could be the blocks counting objects cubes and other physical objects that are better for the high school students in your detailed lesson plan in grade 1
  3. Technology Tools: This is better for easy and effective teaching. They are whiteboards, computers educational websites, and a projector during your class lecture for the detailed lesson plan in science.

A session without a lesson plan

  1. Difficult to finish timely
  2. Foreign elements appear frequently
  3. Sometimes teacher becomes lost in where to start, what, when, and how to do things in the classroom.
  4. The session is likely to be unattractive.
  5. Difficult for motivation.

Title of a detailed lesson plan:

There should be a logical and comprehensive title for each session

Target group of a detailed lesson plan:

It Should be well defined

Time of a Lesson Plan:

It should be specifically mentioned at the top of the lesson plan.

  1. Aims: It is the action to be performed by the trainer in the classroom specifically what is going to teach and why it is so important for him to teach.
  2. Objective: It is the action to be performed by the trainees at the end of the session. It should be logically stated with an action verb at the beginning. To do this Bloom’s taxonomy of action verbs can be looked at.
  3. Introduction: This section of a session takes 10-15% of the time frame, which should include welcome, the establishment of rapport, bridging, an overview of the session, justification of the importance of the session, and pre-assessment i.e. prior knowledge level of the students can be checked.
  4. Development: This is the main section of a lesson and takes 75-80% of the time limit. Success or failure mostly depends on the logical arrangements of the key points of the session. Care should be given to make an effective development process.

Conclusion:

This section deals with 10-15% time for a quick recap of the main stories, students’ assessment, feedback, and forward planning for the next session start. In this section, the teacher can understand how far his/her objectives have been achieved and identify the weaknesses. From that viewpoint, this section is very important for future improvement.
