Recently, we have visited a geological trip in the mountainous areas in Southern Japan, called the Kyushu Island. There are so many active volcanoes there. We have visited in an active volcano called the Mount Unzen. The altitude is 1330m and still active. The view is spectacular and mind-blowing. We have reached the peak by a ropeway vehicle. What we did and saw at Mount Unen area?

Geological Field Trip in active volcano Peak:

We visited the Kyushu area in the southern area of Japan. The active volcano’s name is Mt Unzen. There is a transport system called the Unzen ropeway riding on this car we can reach the Unzen Miyazaki ryokan area to see the spectacular view of Mount Unzen and the Unzen City.

The area is the Unzen National Park controlled by the Japanese government. There are some binoculars installed to see the landscape view from the top of the mountain.

The reek of the Unzen gas fumes area is still active. These gas fumes were first initiated in November 1990 as the latest year and ended in 1995. The area of the Gas fume is very soft and unconsolidated rock fragments.

People can visit only by Dron. There is a Unzen onsen near the city. The onsen are natural hot springs that artificially heat the water by burning the coal. The Mt Unzen is attractive and can be seen from the very far distances. I like to visit there.   There are many other field trip ideas

Geological Field Trip in Japan Forest and Mountain: (Read in Bangla)

জাপানের ইয়ামাগুছি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে আসার কিছু দিন পরেই আমার সুপারভাইজর অথবা বন্ধু বলা যায়। বন্ধু কেন বললাম ? কারণ আমরা একসাথে কুস্তি খেলেছি একসময়। যখন আমরা জাপানের বিখ্যাত বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় গুলোর মধ্যে একটি তহকু বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে পিএইচডি ডিগ্রির জন্য এক সাথে গবেষণা করতাম।  তখন আমরা মাঝে মাঝেই দুপুর ১২ টায় খাবার খাওয়ার পর পাশেই একটা এভাকুয়েশন পার্ক এ গিয়ে আধা ঘণ্টা কুস্তি খেলে আসতাম ।

এই কুস্তির নাম সুমো কুস্তি। এছাড়া পাহাড়ে Field Trip ফিল্ড ট্রিপ করতে গিয়েও আমার পাহাড়ের চুড়ায় কুস্তি খেলেছি। যাইহোক, অনেক দিন পরে সে এখন জাপানের ইয়ামাগুছি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষক। তারই আমন্ত্রণে আমি এখানে এসেছি গবেষণা করতে। আমরা গবেষণা করি মাটি নিয়ে। পাথর নিয়ে। অর্থাৎ আমাদের কাজ হল কোন পাথর করে তৈরি হল কিভাবে তৈরি হল। কেন তৈরি হল এসব খুঁজে বেড় করা।

এই কাজ করতে গিয়ে জীবনের ঝুঁকি ও নিতে হয়। যাকে বলে নিজের খেয়ে বনের মোষ তাড়ানোর মত। কোন পাথর কবে এবং কিভাবে তৈরি হল এই সব জানা । এতে জন সাধারণের কোন লাভ নাই। তবে এটা একটা নেশা । আমার যদিও এতোটা নেশা ধরে নি। তবে আমার সুপারভাইজর বন্ধু আমাকে আসার আমন্ত্রণে বলত প্রচুর কাজ পড়ে আছে। চলে আস তাড়াতাড়ি। এখানে আসার পর পর তিন দিন ৮০০ মিটার উঁচু পাহাড়ে উঠলাম ।

হাতে একটা হাতুড়ি আর দুপুরের খাবার নিয়ে। অবশ্যই পাথর আনার জন্য পিঠে ব্যাকপাক। এভাবে চলছিল।  হটাৎ ডাক পড়ল নতুন একটা Field Trip ফিল্ড ট্রিপ এ যেতে হবে। আমি তো ভাবলাম আবার সেই পাহাড়ের উঠতে হবে। হাতুড়ি নিয়ে। তবে আমি রাজি হয়ে গেলাম । কারণ পাহাড়ে একবার উঠে গেলে যখন দিগন্ত বিস্তৃত পাহাড় সারি সারি চোখে পড়ে তখন অনেক বড় মনে হয় নিজেকে অন্য রকম ভাল লাগে প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্যে ।

যেন সবার থেকে উঁচুতে আছি। যদিও এটা মজা করা ছাড়া কিছুই না। তবে পাহাড় আমাকে টানে। আমরা যথা রীতি যাত্রা শুরু করলাম।

২টা  হায়েস স্টাইলের কার গাড়ি, ছয় জন করে বসতে পারে এমন। এবং একটা তে আমি বসে পড়লাম। আমার সাথে জামা কাপড় নেয়ার জন্য একটা ব্যাগ আর আমার ব্যাগপাক। খাবার সাথে নেইনি কারণ আমাদের তিন দিনের ফিল্ড ট্রিপ Field Trip। রাতে ক্যাম্পিং করতে হবে। তার মানে রাতে জঙ্গলে ঘুমাতে হবে।

আমাদের যাত্রার গন্তব্য হল জাপানের কিউশু দ্বীপ। সেখানে নাগাসাকি এলাকা যেখানে দ্বিতীয় বিশ্বযুদ্ধে আমেরিকা অ্যাটম বোমা ফেলেছিল। যদিও আমরা সেই স্পটে যাব না কারণ আমাদের উদ্দেশ্যে পাথর দেখা। আমরা যাব গভীর জঙ্গলে পাহাড়ের উঁচুতে যতদূরে দুর্গম পাথর দেখা যায়। আমাদের পাথরের নাগালে পৌছাতে হবে। তাকে নেড়ে চেড়ে হাতুড়ি দিয়ে ভেঙ্গে দেখতে হবে কেমন দেখতে।

অনেক পাথর আছে সত্যি অপরূপ সুন্দর। চারিদিকে রাস্তার দুধারে পাহাড়ের ভিতর দিয়ে আমরা ছুটে চলেছি। কোন ক্লান্তি নাই মাঝে মাঝে আমাদের গাইড টিচার কে প্রশ্ন করি এ পাথরের বয়স কত ওই পাহাড়ের বয়স কত ? কিছু কিছু পাহাড় থেকে পাথর কেটে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়েছে ভবন বা বাণিজ্যিক কোন কাজে লাগানোর জন্য। তবে পাহাড়ের ভিতর দিয়ে ৯০ কিমি বেগে ছুটে চলার মজাই আলাদা। আমরা কখনো কোন এক রাস্তার পাশে রেস্ট হাউজে কিছু খেয়ে নেই তো আবার ছুটে চলি।

জাপানে ভূতাত্ত্বিক (Field Trip) ফিল্ড ট্রিপের প্রথম দিনের অভিজ্ঞতা

প্রথম দিনেই আমরা চলে গেলাম মাউন্ট আঞ্জেন  দেখতে। এটা একটা সক্রিয় আগ্নেয়গিরি। আমরা মাউন্ট আঞ্জেনে যাবার সময় বহু দুর থেকে আমাদের গাইড টিচার গাড়ির ভিতর থেকেই দেখিয়ে দিলেন যে ঐযে দেখা যায় মাউন্ট আঞ্জেন। গাড়ির ভিতর থেকে দেখে একটা উঁচু পাহাড় দেখেছি তেমনটা মজা পাইনি তবে ওটা যে বড় তা পরিষ্কার বোঝা যাচ্ছিল।

দিগন্ত বিস্তৃত যতদূর চোখ যায় শুধু পাহাড় এবং দুরে গিয়ে ধীরে ধীরে ভূমির সাথে মিশে গিয়েছে। আমরা যখন একেবারে পাহাড়ে এর রেঞ্জের কাছা কাছি এসে গেছি তখন আরও একবার আমরা কিছু কিনে নিলাম দুপুরের খাবার টা বিশেষ করে কিনলাম। কারণ প্রফেসর বলল যে আমারা পাহাড়ে গিয়ে দুপুরের খাবার খাবো। আমি তিনটা ক্যামেরা নিয়ে গিয়েছি সাথে করে দুইটা স্মার্ট ফোন আর একটা DSLR ক্যামেরা।

তবে বেশি উৎসাহ বলেই হয়ত আমি DSLR ক্যামেরা টা মোটেই ব্যবহার করতে পারলাম না। আমাকে ওই স্মার্ট ফোনের সাহায্য নিতে হল। আমি যথারীতি যখন ই কোন সুযোগ পাচ্ছি ফটো তুলছি। আমরা পাহাড়ের আকা বাঁকা রাস্তা দিয়ে উপড়ে উঠে যেতে লাগলাম। উপর থেকে এক নৈসর্গিক দৃশ্য  দেখলাম যখন ই আমরা আঁকা বাঁকা রাস্তা দিয়ে যাবার সময় নিচে সমুদ্রের দেখা পাচ্ছি উপর থেকে । সে এক অন্য রকম অনুভূতি।

এর পর আমরা এভাবে ৩০ মিনিট যাবার পর একেবারে পাহাড়ের উঁচুতে একটা বাংলো তে এসে আমাদের গাড়িটা পার্ক করলাম। আমার অনেক গাড়ি দেখতে পেলাম সেখানে। কারণ সেটা একটা টুরিস্ট স্পট। নাম আঞ্জেন জাতীয় টুরিস্ট পার্ক। সক্রিয় আগ্নেয় গিরির আমারা একেবারে কাছে খালি চোখেই দেখা যাচ্ছে অল্প অল্প ধোঁয়া উঠছে। এবার উপরে যাবার পালা।

আমাদের গাইড টিচার আমাদের সবাইকে গোল করে দাড় করিয়ে ২ মিনিটের একটা বক্তব্য দিলেন। তিনি বললেন আমাদের কোন টিকিট করা লাগবে না তিনিই টিকিট কেটে দিবে সবার টা। যদিও আমরা আগেই এসব কিছুর  জন্য টাকা পরিশোধ করেছি।  আমাদের হাতে একটা করে টিকিট ধরিয়ে দেয়া হল। ক্যাবল কার এ করে আমরা মাউন্ট আঞ্জেন এর কাছে চলে যাব। যথারীতি ক্যাবল কার চলে আসল। আমরা লাইনে সারি বদ্ধ ভাবে দাঁড়ালাম । প্রফেসর বলল এই টিকিট হারালে ১৩৩০ মি উপর থেকে পায়ে হেঁটে নামবে হবে এখানে। যত্ন করে রেখে দিলাম।

আর মনে রাখলাম কোন পকেটে রাখলাম টিকিট টা অনুভব করার চেষ্টা করলাম । ক্যাবল কার ছুটে চলেছে সাথে উঠেছে একজন ক্যাবল কার গাইড। ভিতরে আমরা সবাই অনেকটা গাদাগাদি কারণ আমরা ১৫ জন এর একটা টিম আর কার গাইড। সাথে কিছু টুরিস্ট । আমরা সবাই উঠে পড়লাম ক্যাবল কার কিভাবে এতো ঢালু তার বেয়ে উপরে উঠে যায় সেটাও অবাক হয়ে দেখতে থাকলাম।

বিকালে আমরা কি কি করলাম?

বিকালে আমরা পাহাড় থেকে নেমে প্রথমেই চলে আসলাম আঞ্জেন আগ্নেয়গিরির একটি মিউজিয়ামে। সেখানে বিস্তারিত আমরা ভিডিও চিত্রের মাধ্যমে জানতে পারলাম কিকি ঘটেছিল ঐ দিন। আমরা ১৫ জন সবাই খুব মজা পেয়েছিলাম ঐতিহাসিক ঘটনাগুলো সম্বন্ধে জানতে পেরে। ঘটনা গুলো কার্টুনের মাধ্যমে বোঝানো হয়েছিল।

যেখানে বর্তমান আধুনিক আলোক চিত্রের মাধ্যমে ডিসপ্লে তে এনিমেশন ভিডিও এবং সাথে কাঠের একটি কাঠামো তৈরি করা হয়েছিল যা কিনা নড়াচড়া করতে পারে। কাঠের কাঠামো সরে গিয়ে এনিমেশন এর সাথে সঙ্গতি রেখে সুন্দড় করে ভিডিও চিত্র তৈরি করা হয়েছে। সত্যি মনো মুগ্ধকর। আমরা  আঞ্জেন মিউজিউম এ অন্য একটি কর্নারে এসে দেখালাম একটি ভিডিও এনিমেশন। যেখানে প্রাগৈতিহাসিক ঘটনা থেকে কিভাবে আগ্নেয়গিরির অগ্নুৎপাত ঘটেছিল তার বৈজ্ঞানিক ব্যাখ্যা সহ ঐতিহাসিক ঘটনা গুলো একের পর একটি দেখতে থাকলাম। এর পর ১৯৯০ সালের আগ্নেয়গিরির দুর্যোগের হতাহতের ঘটনাকে কেন্দ্র করে একটি মুভি দেখলাম।

  আমরা দেখলাম জাদুঘরে সাজানো ১৯৯০ সালের নভেম্বরে ঘটে যাওয়া ঘটনা গুলোর একটি ক্রম বিন্যাস। অনেক মোটর সাইকেল, মুভি ক্যামেরা নষ্ট ও পুড়ে যাওয়া সব জিনিষ পত্র সাজানো রয়েছে। সেই আগের মতই । আমাদেরকে সেই ১৯৯০ সালের ঘটনার ভিতর নিয়ে গেল। ভাবতে থাকলাম।

আগ্নেগিরির ধোঁয়া ও ছাই মিশ্রিত ৮০০ ডিগ্রি তাপমাত্রার পদার্থ গুলো সমস্ত দিগন্ত জুড়ে সমস্ত কিছু ভেঙ্গে চুরমার করতে করতে সব কিছু ধ্বংস করে দিল। ১০০ কিমি গতিতে ধেয়ে আসায় মানুষ অন্যত্র সরে যাবার সময় পাইনি।

প্রথম উদ্গিরন শুরু হয়েছিল ১৯৯০ সালের নভেম্বর এ কিন্তু তখন এতোটা ভয়ঙ্কর হয়নি মানুষ মজা ই পেয়েছিল দেখে । কিন্তু কে জানত ঠিক ১ বছর পরে ১৯৯১ সালের জুন মাসে এতো ভয়ঙ্কর রূপ নেবে? ভিডিও ও বাস্তব ধ্বংস যজ্ঞের প্রমাণ দেখে এর পর আমরা চলে আসলাম বাইরে যেখানে দেখলাম কত শান্ত ভাবে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে ঐ আঞ্জেন মাউন্টেইন । কত শান্ত এখন।

যা কিনা ১৯৯০-১৯৯৫ সালে ৪৫ জন মানুষের প্রাণ ও বহু ঘরবাড়ি ধ্বংস করেছে ১৭৯২ সালে ১৫০০০ মানুষ মারা গেছে এবং বিশাল সুনামি সৃষ্টি করেছে। ১৬৬৪ সালে ৩০ জন মানুষের প্রাণ নিয়েছে। সেই ভয়ঙ্কর ও বর্তমানে শান্ত আঞ্জেন মাউন্টেইন কে পিছনে স্মৃতি হিসাবে রেখে আমরা ফটো তুললাম। তার পর আমার আমাদের আগেই বুকিং করে রাখা হোটেলে ফিরে আসলাম। হোটেলে রাতে আমাদের খাবার আয়োজন করা হল। জাপানি স্টাইল। মেনুতে রয়েছে নাবে, নাবে হল এক প্রকার সিদ্ধ সবজি, আগুনে সিদ্ধ  করতে করতে খেতে হয়। সবার টেবিলেই ছিল আমরা খেলাম। আরও মেনুতে  ছিল, সেসামি (কাঁচা মাছ), কয়েক প্রকারের চকলেট, চিপস, এবং কয়েক প্রকারের মদ।

জাপানের খাবার সময় গল্প চলতে থেকে এটা একটা কালচার। রাত ১০টা পর্যন্ত চলল আড্ডা ও খাবার। তারপর সবাই রুমে এসেই ঘুম। নতুন বালিশ নতুন কম্বল নতুন মাট্রেস । শান্তির ঘুম দিলাম  শুভ সকালেড় জন্য।

জাপানের পাহাড় থেকে বনে বনে ঘুরলাম কিসের নেশায়?

২৫ কোটি বছরের পুরাতন পাথর নাকি প্রকৃতি দেখতে? যারা ভূতত্ত্ব নিয়ে পড়াশুনা করে তাদের একটা সুবিধা হল তারা ভ্রমণ পিপাশু । পৃথিবীর দুর দূরান্তের নৈসর্গিক প্রাকৃতিক দৃশ্য গুলোকে নিজ চোখে দেখার সুযোগ থাকে। এমনকি সে সব প্রাকৃতিক দৃশ্য গুলো সৃষ্টি প্রক্রিয়া নেড়েচেড়ে দেখার সুযোগ থাকে।

আমি যখন প্রথম ভূতত্ত্ব নিয়ে পড়াশুনা করতে গেলাম তখন ই বুঝেছি আমার সামনে অপার সম্ভাবনা পৃথ্বীকে দেখার । আমি যেমন ঘুরতে ভাল বাসি ঠিক তেমনি আমার পড়াশুনার বিষয় একেবারে শোনায় সেহাগা।

এই যেমন আমি যখন Field Trip যাই আমার হাতে থাকে একটি ক্যামেরা। অবশ্যম্ভাবী। যেন পৃথিবীর নৈসর্গিক দৃশ্য গুলোকে তুলে আনা। বহু কিছুই ভাল লাগে। যেমন পাহাড়, সমুদ্র এবং পাহাড়ের মধ্যে আবার আছে রকম ভেদ। দৃষ্টি ফেরান যায় না।

গত বছর আমি জাপানের Tohoku University Earth Science বিভাগের উদ্যোগে আমার সুপারভাইসর জাপানের পৃথিবীর গনবিলুপ্তি বিষয়ে গবেষণায় একনামে যাকে সবাই চিনে প্রফেসর Kunio Kaiho একটি আন্তর্জাতিক সেমিনার করেছিলেন । সেই সেমিনারে পৃথিবীর বিখ্যাত সব গবেষক দের সাথে আমিও একটি Field Trip এ যোগ দিয়েছিলাম। সাথে ছিল বর্তমানে টকিয়ো বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সহযোগী অধ্যাপক তাকাহাসি (ছবিতে বামে)। Field Trip এ আমাদের সাথে আরও ছিলেন Evlin   জাপানে বৃত্তি নিয়ে পড়তে চাইলে ঘুরে আসুনঃ JASSO Scholarship
